The world doesn't need more yoga teachers. The world needs more healers.
That message was shared with me during a yoga teacher training. It was in response to a student’s concern about how difficult it is to stand out as a yoga teacher because there are already so many. The teacher’s response was a reminder that when you show up as yourself - with authenticity, your own unique style, and the intention of truly caring for your students - you will lead a great class. It will be a memorable and impactful experience. You will help people. Everything will fall into place.
What does that really mean, though? When you have an hour to get a lot of information to students. Especially if there are a few newbies in the class who have never done yoga. That is the hard part. How do you use your own voice as a yoga teacher while balancing everything else? How do you feel confident enough to use it? What even is your own yoga voice? These questions are exactly why I created the Build Your Yoga Teacher Presence group mentorship program.
History leaves clues. The past reveals what we’re naturally good at. The present reminds us what we enjoy and how we can make an impact. Looking at my own history, I spent years in marketing - training sales teams, telling stories about the benefits of different products, and speaking in front of large groups. Who knew that teaching about Search Engine Marketing and teaching about Tree Pose could be so similar? Later, when I became an executive and leadership coach, I noticed a recurring theme among my clients: “I want to build my executive presence.” No matter their age, gender, job title, or industry, most of them wanted to feel more confident, define their leadership style, and have a voice within their organization. I quickly realized the same applies to yoga teachers.
We stand in front of groups of people (which is incredible, considering public speaking is one of human's biggest fears). We explain complex poses, breathing techniques, and yoga philosophy. We want to do it all from a place of confidence, impact, and authenticity. We want to hold space with empathy. We want to inspire. We want to lead. We want to heal. But finding that presence - your unique yoga voice - can feel overwhelming, whether you are a new teacher or have been teaching for many years.
This is why this mentorship program matters to me (why I created it!) and why I hope it speaks to you too. It is a space to grow and find your own voice. Through this online cohort of yoga teachers, we’ll work together to define the kind of teacher you want to be. To build confidence. To create impactful classes, workshops, retreats, and the spaces you hold. And to cultivate abundance from a place of authenticity. Because when you teach from the heart, people respond.
These are my dreams for you as a yoga teacher. I’ve seen the impact these tools and practices can make. I know what a supportive, collaborative space for us to grow together can bring you as a teacher. I hope you'll join me! Details on the next cohort here.
